We’re looking for a dependable, hardworking Shed Builder to join our growing team. Southern Shed Co. builds high-quality sheds on-site at customers’ homes. This position will work as part of a crew with one or two other builders, completing each building from start to finish.
This is a long-term opportunity with room to grow. As the company expands, someone who consistently demonstrates quality workmanship, reliability, efficiency, and initiative will have opportunities to take on greater responsibility, increase their earning potential, and advance within the company.
Responsibilities include:
- Framing floors, walls, and roof systems
- Installing siding, trim, doors, windows, roofing, and other options
- Reading measurements and making accurate cuts
- Working efficiently as part of a crew
- Maintaining our standards for quality and attention to detail
- Keeping tools and job sites clean, organized, and safe
- Communicating with management about job progress and material needs
Our production goal is three to four sheds per week, depending on shed size, complexity, weather, and job-site conditions. Efficiency is important, but quality workmanship and customer satisfaction always come first.
Qualifications:
- Construction or carpentry experience is preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn our building process and develop new skills
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well with others
- Comfortable using power tools, ladders, and construction equipment
- Able to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Must take pride in producing clean, professional work
- Must be willing and able to travel overnight when required
- Motivated to grow with the company and take on additional responsibility over time
Pay, schedule, and travel:
- Weekly pay - this is a 1099 position
- Typically four to five workdays per week, depending on efficiency, workload, and weather
- Five paid PTO days per year
- Overnight travel may be required, potentially on a weekly basis
- Company-paid travel and lodging, with a per diem provided for overnight trips
