Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have (Candidates must have minimum of 3 years’ Marine electrical experience in new construction, repair or field service to apply for a 1st class position)
1st Class Electricians will be required to but not limited to the following tasks:
Follow all safety polices/procedures, read and understand electrical drawings, perform shore power, troubleshoot and repair various AC/DC systems on vessels such as machinery alarms, winches, air compressors, steering, MSD’s, motors/pumps, generators, fire alarm, motor controls, VFD’s, lighting, mount equipment under 100 pounds, installing local wireways, starters, power panels, switchboards, control panels, pull cable and terminate.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Use various tools, including voltmeters and ammeters, to test electrical systems for functionality.
- Work with both low voltage and high voltage systems as required by project specifications.
- Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
- Perform troubleshooting on electrical equipment to identify issues and implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrician in commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage and high voltage applications.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics for effective installation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with using voltmeters, ammeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Ability to perform frame carpentry tasks as needed for installations or repairs.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Valid electrician's license or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
