What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Lab Technician 2nd Shift position at Southern Resin, Inc.?
· This position reports to and works directly with the Quality Manager
Duties
· Carry out testing of production samples for chemical and physical properties such as viscosity, pH, solids, etc. Familiarity with viscometers, precision balances, acid/base titration, and basic laboratory equipment is necessary.
· Perform routine analysis (DSC, FTIR, GC) to support production and development research in a timely and reliable manner.
· Interpret analytical data, with the ability to recognize the difference between normal and abnormal results.
· Make appropriate recommendations, suggestions for improvement, or take appropriate corrective actions based on analytical data and sound judgment.
· Document and archive analytical results and related key information.
· Operate, calibrate, maintain, and service lab equipment.
Requirements
· Has an Associate Degree or higher in chemistry, science or engineering and/or at least one year of lab experience, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.
· Possess familiarity with MS Office Software.
· Demonstrate ability to manage and organize time to efficiently perform all required duties with minimal supervision.
· Has sufficient knowledge of chemical properties, ability to add/subtract using decimals, understanding of scientific principles, familiarity with potential hazards, and laboratory expertise to be able to perform all laboratory activities in a safe and effective manner are required.
· 2nd shift = currently 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm (Monday through Friday)
