Position Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our one-physician medical office as a Part-Time Medical Office Receptionist/ Patient Services Coordinator. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with patients, has excellent organizational skills, and can efficiently manage scheduling, billing, and front office responsibilities in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure patients and referral sources receive warm, courteous, timely, and professional service.
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with provider and other staff.
- Communicate with patients, insurance and worker’s compensation companies, and referral sources by phone, fax, email and mail.
- Promote patient satisfaction and confidentiality.
- Prepare rooms for patients.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Verify insurance eligibility and update patient information.
- Submit worker’s compensation and insurance claims and assist with billing inquiries.
- Process medical billing (with the assistance of a third-party billing agency and bookkeeper), collect copays, and post payments.
- Prepare medical charts.
- Maintain medical records and assist provider with medical documentation.
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties.
- Coordinate with existing and prospective referral sources to ensure success of the practice and achieve a designated number of outpatient appointments.
Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous medical office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical scheduling, insurance verification, and billing procedures is a plus.
- Experience with medical records or practice management software preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Experience as a Certified Medical Assistant, nurse or other healthcare position is a plus.
