Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Propane Delivery Driver / Service Technician to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for delivering propane to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers, as well as performing basic service and installation work on propane systems. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, mechanically inclined, and holds the necessary licenses for propane handling and vehicle operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery Duties:
- Safely operate a propane bobtail truck to deliver propane to customers on assigned routes.
- Accurately complete delivery tickets, meter readings, and customer paperwork.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain delivery logs.
- Monitor tank levels and advise customers on safe propane use and maintenance.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times.
Service Technician Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair propane systems and appliances.
- Conduct leak checks, pressure tests, and system inspections per safety regulations.
- Assist with tank installations, removals, and equipment upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer propane service issues.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed (on-call rotation may be required).
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid CDL (Class B or A) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Propane certification or willingness to complete training.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic plumbing or gas-fitting experience a plus.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform physical tasks.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CETP certification(s)
- Prior experience in propane delivery or service
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal propane safety regulations
