Welder

Welder is primarily responsible for using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), commonly referred to as MIG, equipment to join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated carbon or stainless-steel products.

This position requires a work schedule of Monday-Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

A pre-employment welding test will be required.

Requirements:

• Powered lift truck experience
• Ability to occasionally lift/push/pull objects that are 50 pounds or heavier
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Must be able to count accurately and do simple math
• Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods
• Must be able to work safely at all times, follow safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Works in warehouse conditions with occasional exposure to extreme heat/cold
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, ability to work well with others and have a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
• Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials, and notify supervisors.
• Operate MIG welder.
• Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
• Examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
• Operate overhead crane for lifting parts over 50 pounds.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of workstation and assembly areas.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned by Management.
