By combining physical activity with programs designed to promote social connections, life skills, and emotional well-being, the Academy offers comprehensive youth programs, school partnerships, and community events. At the heart of the organization is the First Paddle program, which uses pickleball as a platform to teach core life values, such as Respect, Responsibility, Communication, Perseverance, Integrity, and Sportsmanship. The program aims to foster confident, respectful, and resilient individuals by blending skill-building instruction with character development, preparing young athletes for success both on and off the court.
We are seeking a dedicated First Paddle Program Director to oversee and implement the First Paddle youth program in Aiken County, SC. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for organizing pickleball sessions, coaching students, and incorporating core life values into every activity. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering engaging and educational pickleball lessons with certified instructors, mentoring participants, and collaborating with schools and local organizations to expand the program's reach. The Program Director will also be responsible for managing resources, tracking program outcomes, and fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment for youth participants.
- Proven experience in youth program management, sports coaching, or community outreach
- Strong communication, mentoring, and public speaking skills
- Ability to develop and implement programming focused on skill development and character education
- Knowledge of pickleball, sports education, or youth engagement strategies
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle program logistics and operations
- A passion for youth development and a commitment to fostering core values in a sports setting
- Ability to work on-site in Aiken County, SC, and collaborate with local community partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred but not required
- CPR and First Aid certification is an advantage
