Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - PRN (as needed) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care across diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and outpatient environments. Your expertise will help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and achieve their rehabilitation goals through personalized treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Implement physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, including manual therapy and trigger point therapy
- Assist with clinical assessments and document patient progress accurately in electronic health records (EHR) following clinical documentation standards
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify care plans tailored to each patient's needs
- Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain procedures, progress, and discharge instructions
- Maintain thorough documentation of treatment sessions, clinical assessments, and discharge planning activities
- Support inpatient and outpatient care by ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
Skills
- Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and orthopedics interventions
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical assessment documentation
- Experience with medical equipment operation and electronic health records (EHR) management
- Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions
- Prior experience in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, home health, outpatient clinics or acute care environments is preferred
- Familiarity with care planning for geriatrics and pediatrics populations
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
