About the Role
We’re looking to hire a Part-Time Pet Sitter to handle daily assignments that include dog walking and drop-in visits. This position is perfect for someone who truly enjoys spending time with animals and values consistency, quality, and trust when it comes to caring for pets.
Available Shifts
Applicants must be dependable and consistently available for one or more of these timeframes:
- Morning/Midday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Midday/Afternoon: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Evening: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Weekend Shifts: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
What You’ll Do
As a Pet Sitter, you’ll represent Southern Paws and ensure every pet receives the care and attention they deserve. Responsibilities include:
- Personalized Pet Care: Follow specific care instructions for each client, including feeding, walking, litter box upkeep, and administering medications when needed.
- Exercise and Companionship: Take dogs on safe, engaging walks and provide enrichment activities that promote physical and mental well-being.
- Client Updates: Communicate promptly and professionally with pet owners, sharing visit notes, photos, and any behavior or health observations through our digital scheduling platform.
- Travel Between Visits: Safely and reliably commute between multiple client homes during your shift for visits ranging from 15 to 60 minutes.
- Year-Round Reliability: Be prepared to work in various weather conditions while maintaining strong attention to safety and consistency.
What We’re Looking For
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Genuine love and respect for both dogs and cats.
- Dependable, insured personal vehicle for traveling between appointments.
- Prior experience with animals—through ownership, volunteering, or professional work—strongly preferred.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
Pay and Schedule
- Pay Rate: $15.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience and performance.
- Type: Part-time, with flexible hours depending on your availability and assigned routes.
