What are the responsibilities and job description for the MATERIALS HANDLER position at Southern Oregon Orthopedics, Inc?
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director, the Materials Handler is responsible for the coordination of the entire inventory process beginning with the placement of orders with vendors through receiving, verifying, storing and distribution of supplies and linen to the proper assigned locations. This position supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center. Employee participates in quality improvement activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility: High School diploma or GED. Basic knowledge of medical supplies. Minimum 2 years experience in a health care facility. Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends the English language.

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
Interpersonal: Average communication skills. Demonstrates a positive, friendly, and courteous manner. Demonstrates the ability to work well with other employees.

Knowledge: Working knowledge and experience in a health care facility. Basic knowledge of medical supplies.
MACHINES, EQUIPMENT, WORK AIDES: Basic computer skills, ability to learn new inventory system software. Familiarity with EDI (Electronic Data Interface) processes for purchasing supplies.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Occasional overtime. Must handle stress in meeting time demands.
