Join our dynamic Ambulatory Surgery Center team as a Certified Surgical Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures specific to Cataract procedures and Oculo-plastics. Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly
- Assist surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments, and managing supplies with precision and aseptic technique
- Ensure strict infection control protocols are followed to prevent contamination and promote patient safety
- Collect data related to surgical outcomes and assist in quality improvement initiatives
- Support patient care before, during, and after surgery by providing compassionate assistance and ensuring comfort
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and critical care principles relevant to surgical settings
- Monthly terminal cleaning of the ORs and patient care area
- Maintaining knowledge of current Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) standards.
Experience/Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Scrub Technician in a hospital or Surgery Center environment, with familiarity in Ophthalmology.
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures.
- Recent hands-on experience with OR instrumentation, suturing techniques, and sterile field management.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control practices, and anatomy fundamentals
