What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN Phone Triage position at Southern OB/GYN Associates PC?
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing professional nursing care to clinic patients in the role of triage phone nurse.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Triage patient phone calls and walk in patients to assess patient situation/need and respond appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Inform patient of physician recommendation/intervention; schedule appointment, provide and call in medication to pharmacy is prescribed and/or do referral if needed.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc. in EMR.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions
- adheres to HIPPA guidelines and confidentiality policies.
- Check RX line- contact patient if call from pharmacy and verify RX is needed. Obtain refill approval from provider & e-scribe medicine to pharmacy.
- Check PDMP website before filling controlled medication
- Complete prior authorizations as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in other areas of the clinic as deemed necessary by clinical supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: State LPN license.
