JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator
Reports To: Executive Director
Funding: Funding for this position is subject to annual grant renewal provided through the New Jersey Department of Health.
Job Purpose:
The Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator (TTA) collaborates with regional staff, the Statewide Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) staff and the New Jersey Department of Health to design, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate training and technical assistance opportunities for the Southern region of the New Jersey Early Intervention System. The TTA, along with the CSPD team will create and implement a statewide training plan that effectively responds to the regional needs of Early Intervention Provider agencies, direct service practitioners, service coordinators, families, and community participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates as a member of the SNJREIC region and statewide CSPD team.
- Designs, coordinates, and evaluates regional training needs.
o Assesses regional training and technical assistance needs as they relate to families, early intervention, and community providers.
o Develops individual and regional technical assistance plans in collaboration with DOH, early intervention service and community providers.
o Coordinates and/or implements technical assistance activities.
o Evaluates regional training and technical assistance activities to determine effectiveness in meeting desired outcomes.
o Makes necessary changes to training programs based on evaluation outcomes.
- Supports a statewide system of early intervention professional development.
- Participates on statewide CSPD team to integrate regional training programs as part of the state CSPD plan.
- Collaborates with state CSPD Coordinator and other REIC Training and Technical Assistance Coordinators in planning the execution of statewide training activities.
- Identifies and draws upon local, regional, statewide, and national expertise to address training and technical assistance needs.
- Develops regional and personal areas of expertise to enhance statewide capacity for training and technical assistance.
- Participate in regional early intervention grant-related activities and program development.
- Collaborates with DOH, early intervention programs and service coordination units to ensure knowledge of quality family-centered practices and routines-based intervention.
- Assists with regional needs assessment and analysis of data.
- Provides input for grant review, including any proposed new services/programs, as requested.
- Maximizes the resources which are currently available through collaboration with other organizations and service systems.
- Assists with all aspects of development of short- and long-term range plans for the development of REIC programs and services.
- Acts as resource for information on early intervention and training and technical assistance to the region’s families, providers, service coordinators, community agencies, other REIC staff and SNJREIC Board of Trustees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred, in a related field of Early Intervention.
- Minimum of two years experience in Early Intervention utilizing community-based and family-centered philosophy.
- Administrative/Supervisory and/or training experience.
- Working knowledge of Part C and IDEA.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience negotiating and working in collaboration with diverse organizations.

Working Conditions:
The job may require travel statewide and throughout the southern region. Training and/or presentations may require evening and/or weekend work.
Ability to use a phone, computer, and training equipment. Ability to transport equipment to and from training sites, as needed.

- Full-time position (35 hours/week; twelve months/year)
- Hybrid work schedule (Two days in office in Berlin, NJ, three days remote)
- Salary Range: $58,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience
