Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations using OpenTable or similar systems to optimize seating flow
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, processing sales transactions efficiently through POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Provide expert recommendations on wine, spirits, cocktails, and menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and upsell opportunities
- Serve food and drinks with professionalism, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to food safety standards
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately while maintaining balanced cash drawers at shift end
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, and basic food preparation tasks to support kitchen staff when needed
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, bus tables (bussing), and ensure guest relations are positive throughout their visit
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant environments, or hospitality roles with a focus on guest relations
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables and tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail mixing, and beverage service techniques including drink presentation and bartending basics
- Ability to process sales transactions accurately while handling cash, credit cards, and tips
- Food safety certification or experience in food handling practices; understanding sanitation standards in the food industry
