We are excited to announce that we have a full-time opportunity for an Internal Medicine Physician to join our Team! Southern Missouri Community Health Center is an FQHC in West Plains, Missouri, with another clinic in Thayer, Missouri. SMCHC provides comprehensive primary healthcare to patients of all ages; mental health counseling to children, adolescents, adults, couples and groups; and dental health services to children through age seventeen.
Our Internal Medicine Physician will have the opportunity to provide Primary Care to our established and growing patient population. Our FPOB will participate in community activities that support the mission of SMCHC which is to provide access to quality, affordable medical, dental, and mental health care delivered with respect and compassion to all individuals in need of such services. We are an approved NHSC site. Following is a brief overview of the role:

Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Evaluate patients' medical histories and physical conditions, diagnose and treat a variety of health conditions, and provide preventive care and health education.
- Management of Chronic Conditions: Manage common and complex illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, ensuring continuous care and monitoring of patients' health status.
- Collaboration: Refer patients to specialists when necessary and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and follow-up care.
- Research and Education: Stay informed about the latest advancements in internal medicine and participate in continuing medical education to maintain licensure and board certification.
The chosen candidate will receive many paid Holidays and a generous PTO allowance every year. SMCHC pays 100% of Medical, Dental, Base Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability. In addition, we offer Dependent Coverage, Vision, Accident, Voluntary Life, Short-Term Disability, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity as add-on options. 401K with a 5% match of gross wages. Professional license renewal fees and Professional Organization dues are paid by SMCHC. Medical Malpractice insurance is paid by SMCHC through FTCA. We also offer continuing education allowance, student loan repayment through NHSC, and additional benefits as agreed upon.
