Axia Interventional Spine & Pain is a new interventional pain practice opening in March, and we’re assembling a motivated, ambitious, and dependable team to grow with us. As a Medical Assistant, you’ll be the welcoming, professional face our patients see first and a vital support to our clinical team.
In this role, you’ll provide hands-on clinical and administrative support, help keep daily workflows running smoothly, and ensure every patient experience is efficient, compassionate, and positive. What You’ll Be Doing
Deliver Exceptional Patient Care
You’ll provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care by collecting assessment data, supporting patients’ physical and emotional needs, and assisting with patient education. Working under RN supervision, you’ll maintain professionalism during routine visits and unexpected situations alike, while ensuring accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
Collaborate and Communicate
You’ll work closely with nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated, patient-centered care and ensure smooth clinic operations throughout the day.
Stay Organized and Tech-Savvy
You’ll use our EMR and other software systems to keep patient records accurate, organized, and up to date, helping the team stay efficient, compliant, and focused on patient care.
What You’ll Bring to the Team

High school diploma or equivalent

Recent, relevant experience in a medical office setting

CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)

Completion of a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or Medical Secretary program is strongly preferred
You’re comfortable using EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and basic office technology. You communicate clearly, manage your time well, and remain calm under pressure. You can juggle multiple priorities, work independently when needed, and collaborate effectively as part of a team. Above all, you bring a patient-first mindset and a strong sense of accountability to your work.

Working Conditions and Requirements

Schedule: Full-time, generally Monday–Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST, with occasional extended or outside hours as needed

Location: In-person, 1525 E Beltline Ave NE Grand Rapids, MI 49525

Environment: Indoor clinical setting with moderate to heavy computer use; standard healthcare safety precautions apply

Pre-Employment Requirements: Drug screen and criminal background check required; random drug testing may occur

Physical Demands: Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting with patient positioning or transfers; ability to lift up to 60 lbs; prolonged sitting at a computer; adequate auditory and visual acuity to perform duties safely and accurately
