Job Summary
Southern MEP is seeking a skilled and experienced MEP BIM Coordinator to support and coordinate Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Building Information Modeling (BIM) activities across industrial construction projects. This role is essential in driving digital coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems, improving design accuracy, and ensuring seamless collaboration between multidisciplinary project teams. The MEP BIM Coordinator will work closely with project managers, engineers, and design teams to implement BIM standards, manage models, and support the integration of BIM technologies throughout all phases of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate MEP-focused BIM modeling (HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems) across industrial construction projects.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of BIM software and workflows to ensure consistency across project teams.
- Manage integration of MEP models with architectural and structural models for full project coordination.
- Perform and lead clash detection and resolution specifically for MEP systems using Navisworks.
- Ensure model accuracy, data integrity, and constructability of all MEP systems throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to align MEP design deliverables with construction schedules and field installation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a BIM Coordinator with a strong MEP focus (HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems)
- Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP (mechanical systems required).
- Strong working knowledge of Navisworks for MEP clash detection and coordination
- Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing design principles.
- Industrial construction or large-scale commercial MEP coordination.
- Strong communication, and coordination skills.
