WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Business Development and Communication Advisor is responsible for making long term relationships with organizations, state/local government, and educational institutions to represent the company and generate business.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Proactively cultivate and sustain long-term relationships with privately owned organizations, state/local government, and educational institutions
- Serve as a Brand Ambassador representing SMC
- Collaborate with Senior leadership on various projects/causes SMC may be involved with for public relations purposes
- Cultivate leadership roles on local chamber of commerce, and other organizations that can be used to generate business for SMC
- Cultivate leadership roles on the Board of Directors of organizations that uphold SMC's Mission Vision and Values
- Create and develop events for the benefit of the Property Management and Hospitality divisions
- Advise Senior Leadership on SWOT analysis for reputational risks
- Develop and manage programs and resources for SMC and their customers
- Create and update contact database for external entities
- Actively participate in related committee meetings within Southern Management
- Attend evening/weekend meetings/events when needed
- Develop & facilitate training as needed
- Assist with management of Company Scholarship and Community Programs
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
- Contribute to team/company engagement efforts

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Property Management experience is a plus
- Applicability of education or job experience as a substitution for the other may be considered
