What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Aviation Ground Instructor position at Southern Maine Aviation?
Overview
Southern Maine Aviation, LLC is hiring enthusiastic part time ground instructors to join our new and growing Flight Training Center! We are specifically looking for flight or ground instructors that have industry aviation experience and that have flown professionally in their career, such as retiring airline or corporate pilots or those that can build their flying schedule around our academic calendar. We are looking for people who love to teach and engage with new people and pilots.
We are a FAA Part 61 and 141 flight school and provide flight training for Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-engine and Instructor Students. We also do flight reviews, tailwheel, complex, and high-performance endorsements. We also do a significant number of scenic flights due to our proximity to the beaches of Maine. We have an immaculate and well-maintained fleet of Piper Pilot 100i’s, Skyhawk SP’s, an ACA Citabria, a Cessna 182RG Skylane, and a Beechcraft Duchess for multi-engine commercial training. We also have a full-motion FMX Redbird Advanced Aviation Training Device. We have a diverse staff of highly experienced flight instructors that come from various aviation backgrounds.
Duties
- Providing high-quality customer service and professional ground instruction to a diverse population of clients from the United States and abroad. We are building an academic calendar to include classes such as Navigation, Weather, Aerodynamics, etc.
- Other general Aviation Ground Instructor duties
Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- Basic, Advanced, and Instrument Ground Instructor Certificates (or current Certified Flight Instructor Certificates)
