Job Title:  SIC Maintenance Mechanic/FT (GE WEST JEFF)

Job Summary:Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Maintenance Mechanic for an on-going site in the West Jefferson, NC area. This is a third shift position : 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform Daily PM's as scheduled for equipment at the site.
• Repair and maintain equipment in accordance with OEM specifications. This includes machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, ballscrews and PLC's for production equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and make repairs on variety of plant equipment and systems.
• Diagnose equipment failure and institute action to return equipment to normal operations.
• Knowledge of electrical controls and power distribution.
• Knowledge of compressed air, HVAC, and domestic water systems.
• Maintain records and logs as needed.
• Knowledge of safety standards and precautions for plant maintenance and repair work.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Experience:

2-year degree in Electrical/Machine Technology or Similar Technology Degree plus 5 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician 

Or 10 Plus years’ experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.

Or a 2-year degree in Machine Technology or Similar Technology Degree will be considered as an entry level position.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements: 

• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions
• Conditions including working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations and adverse weather conditions. 
• Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment
• Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. 
• Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools. 
• Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders and in awkward body positions.
