What You Will Do

  • Designs and implements the strength and conditioning programs for men's basketball, and men's and women's cross country.
  • Works with student-athletes individually to provide regular assessments and monitoring of conditioning activity.
  • Assists in the operation, supervision, maintenance, and overall safety of the athletics department conditioning facilities.
  • Assists in communicating with coaches, student-athletes, and athletic trainers as to sport needs, goals, student-athlete compliance/attendance, and medical limitations.
  • Responsible for advising the strength, conditioning, and training coach and the Associate AD on equipment needs, safety concerns, and overall operations.
  • Supportive of the student-athlete concept and has a demonstrated concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certification from either the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA CSCS) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa)
  • Current CPR for Professional Rescuer or Basic Life Support certification
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills, communication skills, and computer skills
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for Division I student-athletes
  • Experience training and coaching basketball student-athletes
