Position Summary
- Reporting to the Director of Human Experience & Development, the Learning Experience Designer & Systems Specialist is a key contributor to SIH’s learning culture, responsible for designing impactful through instructional design, learner-centered educational content while also managing the technology platforms that support delivery and engagement. This hybrid role blends expertise in instructional design with technical acumen in learning management systems (LMS) to develop, implement, and continuously improve learning solutions across the organization.
- Serving as a strategic partner to Human Development Partners and department leaders, this position creates high-quality digital and instructor-led learning assets, evaluates educational outcomes, and ensures smooth operation and user experience of the LMS platform. The Learning Experience Designer & Systems Specialist plays a vital role in elevating professional development across SIH through thoughtful design, seamless system administration, and meaningful learner engagement.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Licenses and Certification

Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in instructional design, adult learning, or LMS administration (preference given in healthcare or a complex organization)
- Demonstrated proficiency with LMS platforms (e.g., Workday Learning, HealthStream, Cornerstone) and eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise, Camtasia)
- Strong project management skills with ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, respectful communication, customer service, and facilitation skills
- Passion for delivering high-quality learning experiences that elevate employee performance and engagement

- Role Specific Responsibilities
- Instructional Design & Learning Development
- Design and develop engaging learning experiences using adult learning principles, instructional design models, and a variety of media (eLearning, instructor-led, blended)
- Partner with Human Development Partners and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and translate them into creative, effective training solutions
- Create storyboards, scripts, facilitator guides, and participant materials tailored to diverse learning audiences (clinical, administrative, leadership)
- Leverage tools and video editing software to build multimedia content that enhances learner retention and application Incorporate feedback mechanisms, assessments, and learning analytics to evaluate and enhance content effectiveness
- LMS Administration & Learning Technology
- Oversee day-to-day administration of SIH’s learning management system (LMS), including course setup, user support, reporting, and troubleshooting
- Manage course enrollment, compliance tracking, audience segmentation, and automated workflows to streamline learning delivery
- Collaborate with IT and vendors to maintain system integrity, implement updates, and optimize system performance and reporting
- Provide training and support to end users and internal trainers on system navigation, content uploads, and course design best practices
- Strategic Learning Support & Collaboration
- Support Human Development Partners by co-creating content, customizing materials for team-based learning, and offering instructional design consultation
- Lead or participate in enterprise learning initiatives, including onboarding redesigns, compliance campaigns, and leadership development rollouts
- Analyze learning data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations for improving the learning ecosystem
- Drive strategy and innovation within SIH’s learning and development culture b y aligning educational initiatives with organizational goals, workforce trends, and employee engagement data; proactively identify gaps and opportunities to enhance the colleague experience through continuous learning.
- Benchmark leading practices from peer institutions and national models to source, curate, and recommend relevant tools, platforms, and partnerships that elevate SIH’s learning culture and help position us as a development-forward healthcare employer.
- Leverage and provide HR-specific metrics related to learning engagement, program impact, and colleague growth trends, while collaborating across departments to support shared outcomes in patient experience, workforce development, and organizational performance.
