Accounts Payable Clerk

Company Overview

Incorporated in 1992, Southern Hens is a fully integrated poultry processing company engaged in the processing and distribution of fresh, frozen and canned RTE poultry products. Southern Hens operates three plants at its’ headquarters in Moselle, MS and employees 900 team members. Southern Hens has a long history of targeted growth and training and promoting team members to achieve corporate and personal professional goals.

Primary Duties:

• Verify authenticity of invoices (match to purchase orders and packing slips)
• Accurately code and post vendor invoices to Accounts Payable system
• Process payments to vendors by preparing checks and ensuring timely payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and other financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain organized and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions and supporting documents
• Filing
• Make deposits and reconcile petty cash
• Reports to the Chief Financial Officer
• Performs other functions assigned by management, as needed.

Educational Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience in an accounting-related position

Essential Functions:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Proficient with 10 Key calculator

Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a positive manner with internal and external parties to resolve issues/disputes
• Preferred 2 years experience in accounting-related position
• Honest
• Robust organizational skills
• Dependable
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Capable of working with minimum supervision
• Professional demeanor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
