Location: Cleveland County Jail, Shelby NC
Position: Part-Time Medical Records Clerk
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4 Hours Per Day

- Maintain and manage patient medical records, including scanning, updating the EMR, filing, and retrieval
- Respond to requests for records in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines
- Create and establish new patient charts in the Electronic Medical Records System
- Compile medical data and reporting details as required by the Jail Administrator
- Answer phones when needed and assist with daily clerical functions
- Support the medical team with additional tasks as requested
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records preferred
- Solid organizational abilities with a high attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Professional, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Meet with the Medical Team Administrator/Medical Services Coordinator as needed
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with facility staff, medical personnel, and outside providers
- Serve as a positive, professional representative of the medical unit
- Ensure timely submission of required logs, reports, and documentation to the corporate office
