Southern Health Partners is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician to provide medical services and clinical oversight at the Craven and Scotland County Jails in North Carolina. This flexible part-time opportunity allows providers to stay connected to patient care while working alongside an experienced nursing team in a structured and supportive healthcare environment.
With approximately four hours per week, this role is ideal for providers seeking supplemental income, reduced-hour practice opportunities, or a meaningful way to continue practicing medicine without the demands of a traditional clinical setting.
Position Details
Location: Craven & Scotland County Jail – NC
Schedule: Approximately 4 Flexible Hours Weekly
Position Type: Part-Time Medical Provider (NP, PA, or MD)
Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled on-site patient evaluations and treatment
- Provide clinical oversight and support to on-site nursing staff
- Review and sign medical records, treatment plans, and physician orders
- Prescribe medications and coordinate specialty referrals as needed
- Ensure quality healthcare delivery within established clinical protocols
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina license as an MD, NP, or PA
- Nurse Practitioners must maintain collaborating physician relationship if required by state regulations
- Prior experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or correctional healthcare preferred
- Ability to pass background screening and facility security clearance
