Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional working overnight shifts from Friday at 11:00 pm to 7am Saturday,Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities, cognitive impairments, and aging-related needs. Your energetic and proactive approach will ensure residents receive the support they need to thrive in a safe, respectful, and engaging environment. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability.
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety standards.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote independence and well-being, including meal preparation and recreational activities.
- Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling to prevent injury for both residents and staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control procedures.
- Communicate effectively with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and team members to coordinate care plans and report any concerns or changes in condition.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, geriatrics, and behavioral management strategies.
- Experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care in residential or home & community care settings.
- Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medication administration, CPR certification, first aid training, and safe patient lifting practices.
- Background working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous.
- Ability to operate a standard passenger car for transportation needs is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate attitude are essential for success in this role.
