ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A Upholstery Float assists the Supervisor or Lead Person in oversight of daily operations of the Upholstery department. They will be responsible for filling in at whatever position his supervisor deems necessary and reasonable to maintain daily production and to meet quotas.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must have knowledge of how to perform all job duties and responsibilities of the operations.
- Be prepared to fill in at ANY position in the operation
- Help train employees in accordance to production and quality standards.
- Carry parts to lines at various locations
- Report to Upholstery lines as directed by supervisor to assist in correcting any problems they may be having (will use own personal vehicle. Reimbursed for mileage)
- Works closely with and promotes a team concept among all employees in the Upholstery department.
- Assist others when necessary.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Basic reading and writing skills required.
- Ability to read, understand and communicate with others in the mill.
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITES

- Immediately report any work-related injury or illness.
- Ensures that the work area is kept neat and free of hazards. THE USE OF COMPRESSED AIR WITHOUT PROPER SAFETY NOZZLE IS PROHIBITED FOR CLEAN-UP.
- Wear always required personal protective equipment.
- Promote proper lifting techniques: avoid bending and twisting at the waist whenever possible.
- Inspect tools and protective equipment before use.
- Learn and train employees of the hazards of the equipment and procedures used on the job.
- Report any defective, malfunctioning, or suspicious tool, machine, or protective equipment immediately.
- Participate and promote compliance to safety training.
- Report any hazards or risks related to policies or procedures.
SAFETY
- Personal Protection Equipment should be worn at all times within the department as well as throughout the plant where designated.
- Safety is enforced each day to prevent any accidents.
