Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools efficiently.
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items are properly disinfected and meet health regulations.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing area.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing station and surrounding areas by regularly sanitizing surfaces and equipment.
- Handle manual tasks such as loading and unloading dish racks, heavy lifting of large pots or boxes of supplies, and organizing storage areas.
- Adhere to all kitchen health and safety standards, including proper knife skills when handling cutlery or prep tools.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is valued.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and manual handling tasks throughout shifts.
