The YMCA's Camp Lincoln in Kingston NH is now hiring for the 2024 camp season (June-Aug)!!!!
Our staff enjoys working on the lake with campers and being part of an incredible team. The camp Nurse will evaluate and treat campers and staff for minor injuries and illnesses, supervise and insure implementation medication policies and procedures at camp, keep a log of Health Center visits, give supportive advice to counselors and other camp staff if requested, and identify health problems serious enough to require a physician’s attention.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Customer service.
- Oversee the health and wellness of campers and staff.
- Provide medical attention to campers and staff with injuries and document in Health Log.
- Distribute and record camper medications.
- Maintain records and medical forms.
- Dispensing medication to campers as needed
- Communicating with parents
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be EMT certified
- Prior camp, ER and/or pediatric unit experience helpful but not required
- Must be able to complete YMCA required training as scheduled by management.
- Good bedside manner, friendly and personable
- Strong assessment abilities
- Prior experience with children (does not have to be in a medical capacity)
- Must maintain updated certifications of the job (CPR and First Aid/AED).
- Must successfully clear FBI and state criminal background checks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS· Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time· Ability to lift up to 50lbs.· Ability to push, pull, bend and kneel regularly.· Ability to communicate verbally (in-person and on phone) and in writing is essential.· Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.· Ability to view and enter data on computer for long periods of time.
