POSITION SUMMARY:
The Kids Club Lead provides care and activities to children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years, who are members and guests of Exeter Area YMCA.
Kids Club Lead Staff also assists in planning and implementing high quality and developmentally appropriate activities for youth members participation in youth programs. Actively participate in projects and initiatives designed to advance membership, increase program participation, and further the Y mission based on strategic goals. Provide data management and reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
This position is primarily responsible for representing the YMCA personally, professionally and in a manner in accordance with the mission and goals of the YMCA. Appropriate activities should be providing for growth in skills, self-awareness, group relations, and character development. By conducting him/herself in a caring responsible, honest, and respectful manner, this position is a role model for children and adults.
This position is Monday - Friday 8.00am - 11.30am, starting at $12 an hour, rate based on experience.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan and implement activities children, ages 10 weeks to 5 years of age.
- Assists with coordination of staff meetings to ensure employees are kept up to date on programs, calendar of events, and changes to policies.
- Oversees Kids Club usage and activities taking place during Kids Club hours and care-giver/child interactive opportunities.
- Communicates to direct supervisor any concerns or incidents, needed improvements or repairs that may need follow-up.
- Collaborate with Youth Program Coordinator for developmentally appropriate activities within Kids Club
- Tracks and provides data by creating reports as required for assigned programs, including survey data.
- Ensure that there is adequate supply of equipment and materials as needed to maintain facility.
- Respond to emergency situations, as needed, including after Kids Club established hours and weekends.
- Set-up room and provide support for special events when needed.
- Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings, and special events.
- Build relationships with and among members, respond to inquiries and solve problems.
- Maintain a clean and safe program environment for all children by following all YMCA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Provide appropriate supervision to all children.
- Provide a warm and engaging environment for all children, staff, and families.
- Supervise children and assume accountability for all children in care.
- Track, maintain and care for supplies, equipment and program meeting areas.
- Engage in active listening with members and program participants in order to build relationships, understand individual’s goals and interests, and take the initiative to ensure the member has a positive experience.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Associates Degree in early childhood education or 3-5 years of experience working with infants and children preferred.
- Knowledge and commitment to the YMCA mission and its core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to attain certification within 30 days of hire.
- Human relation skills necessary to facilitate positive and effective relationships with youth and teen participants, community organizations, parents, staff, and volunteers.
- Willingness to work as part of a team to offer quality programming.
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations (depending upon the programs).
- Must have adequate sight and hearing to effectively supervise program participants.
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighting up to 20 pounds.
- Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
