Job Overview
The Ultrasound Technician with Southern CT Women's Health Care Associates provides ultrasound tests for patients who visit the practice. The OB/GYN Sonographer works with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients. The preferred candidate will have pre-existing Women's Health/OB/GYN experience, and the flexibility to support the practice at a Full Time basis in our Milford office.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as a representative of SCWHCA, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the SCWHCA community, and the public.
- Observes screen during scan to ensure the images produced is satisfactory for diagnostic purposes, adjusting equipment as required.
- Ability to perform, observe and provide oral and written summary of technical findings to physician for use in medical diagnosis.
- Ability to prepare patients for exams and effectively explain procedures to ensure the safety and comfort for all patients.
- Ability to order, approve and submit diagnostic procedures within our medical record software.
- Coordinate work with physicians, including providing assistance during more invasive in-office procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment when determining if the procedure was sufficient for proper diagnosis or if additional imaging is required prior to presentation to physician.
- Maintain stock and supplies, prepare supplies for special procedures and ordering supplies when necessary.
- Clean, check and maintain sonographic equipment, submitting maintenance requests when applicable.
- Follow internal protocols regarding departmental communications.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Adhere to corporate compliance program guidelines and comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures within the SCWHCA community.
- Maintain and respect the confidentiality of PHI (Protected Health Information) in accordance with corporate policy and all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) mandates.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Current ARDMS registration required. OB/GYN certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience OB/GYN or Women's Health ultrasound experience
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multitask and focus on detail
- Must have EPIC experience.
- Preferably worked with VIEWPOINT SOFTWARE PROGRAM
