What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Crisis Responder position at Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center?
Contract Position.
To provide after-hours assistance to victims of sexual assault through crisis intervention via the crisis line and accompaniment to forensic medical exams at the Hampton, GA office.
Specific Duties: Provides crisis intervention to victims via the crisis line and during forensic medical exams. Must be available to respond in person to the Hampton office anytime during the agreed upon shift. Acts as a liaison between the victim, law enforcement and medical personnel in an effort to provide a continuum of care. Provides information to victims regarding community resources. Completes and submits reports as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Local applicants only. (Must live within 30 minutes of the Hampton office)
Ability to empathize and communicate with all types of people.
Excellent verbal communications skills.
Commitment to the need for client and agency confidentiality.
Ability to organize and maintain accurate records.
Preferred Qualifications:
Competent knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding sexual assault, child abuse, and trauma.
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Human Services or related field preferred.
Background check required.
Hours Required:
This is a contract position. Nights and weekends. Some opportunity to work daytime and holidays (when office is closed). Night shift: M-Th, 6pm-6am. Weekend shift: Friday, 6pm-Monday, 6am.
