Position Summary
The Purchasing & Inventory Manager will be responsible for leading and improving all aspects of purchasing, inventory planning, supplier management, and material availability. This position will develop purchasing strategies, analyze inventory levels and demand trends, negotiate with suppliers, and implement systems that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support the company's continued growth. Working closely with sales, operations, and leadership, this individual will play a key role in ensuring the right material is available at the right time while optimizing inventory investment and cash flow.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage supplier relationships, pricing, lead times, and vendor performance.
- Analyze inventory turns, excess inventory, and stock shortages while making recommendations for improvement.
- Negotiate pricing, freight, payment terms, and supply agreements.
- Collaborate with sales and operations to ensure material availability for customer orders.
- Improve purchasing and inventory processes within the ERP system.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management experience.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial distribution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- ERP experience (SouthWare, Epicor, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Infor, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
