JOB SUMMARY
This position within the Interconnections Planning team will provide engineering and project support for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Microgrid initiatives affecting Georgia Power and relevant Integrated Transmission System (ITS) projects. The role impacts Georgia Power, its parent Southern Company, and the industry through the safe, reliable, and economical deployment of BESS and Microgrid assets. The successful candidate will develop, study, and assist execution of Georgia Public Service Commission-approved projects, behind the meter (BTM) and Customer DER offerings as well as additional procurements to meet customer needs. The successful candidate will also lead the Interconnections Planning efforts related to approved pilot projects on the distribution system. The candidate should be able to demonstrate previous related experience, including but not limited to working with Renewable and Regulatory teams and ensuring compliance with standards / guidelines (FERC, NERC, SERC, Southern Company, ITS Reliability Guidelines, IEEE Standards, etc).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education :
- Four (4) year B.S. Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology Degree highly preferred - Electrical preferred
- Professional Engineer license preferred
- Advanced Engineering Degrees and industry certifications desired.
