SUMMARY: The Senior Contributions Clerk compiles and balances employee hours, contributions, and premium reports for employer accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Timely and accurately balance and post all hours and contributions received from Employers.
- Timely and accurately balance and post all member premiums received from Employers.
- Learn and understand relationships between reported hours, contribution accounts and various benefit rates, as well as how these elements impact functional areas (i.e., Eligibility and Pension). Become proficient in CBA definitions as well as systems terminology.
- Communicate and work closely with Employers regarding questions, deadlines, reports, and discrepances.
- Examine records (billing transmittals, deposit distribution reports, over/under reports, and other schedules) to ensure hours, contributions, and premiums are posted correctly.
- Accurately prepare reports showing total payments, hours, and contribution rates.
- Deposit and record all premium, contribution, and compliance audit checks to the appropriate accounts in a timely matter.
- Interact effectively with members of Accounting, Eligibility, IT, and Operations.
- Handle all duties and assignments in a timely manner.
- Support management with monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Actively participate in testing contribution/premium/hour process and reporting in new core system.
- Participate in all required meetings.
- Perform other job-related duties/special project as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with, and understanding of, basic business principles; strong math skills.
- Able to utilize MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) required.
- Strong Excel skills at an intermediate level and ability to create spreadsheets and other reports.
- Ability to take and follow instructions and work independently (often with tight deadlines) as required.
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to organize and track large amounts of paperwork and data.
- Highly detail oriented.
- Good analytical skills, including ability to interpret employer reports.
- Effective written communications skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
