What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Medication Technician position at Southern California Sunrise Recovery?
Job Duties:
1. Complete weekly medication audits of centrally stored medications and client individual medications
through the electronic medical record (EMR).
2. Take client vitals, i.e. pulse, respirations, temperature, weekly and complete thorough COWS & CIWA
documentation in the EMR.
3. Complete limited health care assessments and report results back to the Medical Director’s team weekly.
4. Run a medication education group once a week for all the clients at a scheduled time for each residential
location.
5. Do individual sessions with clients on controlled medication to explain effects and use of the medication.
6. Collaborate with Program and Medical Director for medications, detox protocols, medical orders and / or
anything else pertaining to client’s medical care
7. Ensure accuracy in completion of all health care documentation pertaining to client care throughout the
company
8. Analyze and interpret orders from the Medical Directors office and aid in proper EMR documentation
9. Provide staff training, coaching and ongoing development in the areas of infection control, medication
management, medication disposal, contra-indications, vitals and assessments, and review of wellness
panels.
10. Schedule wellness panels with our laboratory and review results with the Medical Director’s team.
11. Coordinate review of hospital orders for emergency and urgent care client visits and disseminate orders to
the Medical Directors office.
12. Assist with client intake procedures as needed to include consents, vitals, property searches, etc.
13. Assist with collection of Urinary Analysis samples and review them as needed.
14. Assist case management with client paperwork, i.e. FMLA and disability forms.
15. Maintain and adhere to all Federal, State, County and Agency regulations
16. Other duties as assigned
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
