FIELD REP JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:
The individual in this position is responsible for assisting the SCPGA junior golf staff at the
various golf events and tournaments that are conducted each year. This includes the Junior
Development Tour, Players Tour, and Toyota Tour Cup. This individual is responsible for
working with the Team Leader to carry out the necessary duties for the event they are working.
The individual working in this position shall act on behalf of the Southern California Section of
the PGA of America (SCPGA) and reports to the acting Team Leader, Junior Golf Manager, and
Junior Golf Director.
Organization: The Southern California Section of the PGA of America was established in 1924,
and today is comprised of over 1,700 Golf Professionals working at over 500 facilities within the
Section. The mission of the Southern California Section (SCPGA) is the purpose of the PGA of
America, to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to its
growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assist Tournament Director with the administration of Jr. Tour events
- Responsible for: check-in, starting, Rules officiating, pace of play, scoring,
presentation of awards, follow-up of scores with SCPGA
- Must have golf experience/knowledge
- Must have good knowledge/understanding of the Rules of Golf
- Must be able to work well with children and their parents
- Must always portray image in a professional manner (representative of the SCPGA).
Selected uniforms/name tags must always be worn at events
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle
- Preferred availability - Must be available on weekends as all events during the fall and
spring are held on Saturday and Sunday only. Events are held Monday-Sunday in June – August.
Starting Salary - $16.50/hour mileage reimbursement ($.67/mile)
