Position Summary
The Surgical Materials Coordinator is a member of the Perioperative team under the direct supervision of the Materials Management Director and is responsible for the purchasing and procurement of supplies and equipment for the Perioperative Services Department. Works in collaboration with the Perioperative nursing team to meet the procedural supply and equipment needs for surgical procedures.

- Replenishes and restocks Operating Room suites, Operating Room core supply area, and stocks and maintains sterile supply storage areas. Ensures that procedural supply and equipment needs for surgical procedures are met.
- Issues items daily (in MMIS) from sterile supply storage to surgery core room as appropriate.
- Breaks down pallets and fills sterile supply storage shelving, rotates supplies, and removes all corrugated boxes and appropriately replenishes received items from Materials Warehouse.
- Maintains all required logs, including Implant and Tissue Logs. Ensures all required logs are up to date and accurate.
- Answers/returns calls in a timely manner, escalating items in an appropriate and timely manner. Demonstrates exceptional customer services skills at all times.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum (1) one-year previous purchasing experience in OR supplies, and maintain equipment inventory
- Knowledge of Operating Room surgical specialties
- Ability to maintain flexibility and composure in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Strong time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks
- Computer literacy and proficiency
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience case cart picking
