In this job, you’ll act as the External Regulatory Audit Manager, responsible for managing the Company’s response to multiple external regulatory audits simultaneously conducted by the CPUC, Office of Electric Infrastructure Safety (OEIS), FERC, 3rd Party Auditors, NERC and WECC that have financial, operational, and/or regulatory impact on the Company. This position will also be overseeing the SCE Compliance Program activities, such as newly innovative OU mitigation tracking system. This position will be the Company’s expert on managing compliance processes and procedures required to effectively put forth the Company’s positions and demonstrate compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develops business requirements, performs gap analysis, and identifies strategies for controls and risk mitigation.
  • Facilitates training and ensuring the effective remediation of potential non-compliant situations.
  • Supports legislative strategy and legislative language development to advance or defend company positions.
  • Conducts audit reviews to ensure that the company stays compliant with the policies and standards enforced by relevant agencies.
  • Identifies significant regulatory challenges and commercial opportunities, for the current and future regulatory environments.
  • Advises and counsels on new consumer products and product structures and compliance with changing regulatory rules and varying political environment.
  • Oversees and implements the organization's compliance reporting activities.
  • Leads regulatory report submission for the company.
  • Provides guidance to cross-functional organizations on considering preventative measures on corrective action responses.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience with regulatory filings/proceedings and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related discipline
  • Experience interfacing and negotiating with CPUC, Office of Electric Infrastructure Safety (OEIS), FERC and/or WECC staff
  • Experience leading projects and/or cross-functional teams
  • Project Management Certification
  • Experience working in any of the following organizational units: Energy Procurement, Transmission and Distribution, Customer Service Programs, Regulatory Affairs, or Finance
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, strategic thinking and decision-making skills and the ability to analyze regulatory and business problems and create innovative solutions
  • Experience presenting technical complex information to a non-technical audience
  • Experience using AI or other technology platforms (Power BI, Power Platform)

Additional Information

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
