SCHOOL ADJUSTMENT COUNSELOR (SAC)2026-2027 School YearThe SAC is responsible for supporting the social and emotional well-being of all students in order to achieve academic success. The SAC is a key member of the Department of Student Services and theschools of SBRSD who works directly with the Principal, Assistant Principal and faculty and staff toensure a safe and positive school climate. The SAC is a full-time position and reports directly to theDirector of Student Services.Qualifications: Must have MA DESE certification as SAC and LicSWThree years experience working with youth or in social services preferredExcellent time management skills, including the ability to triage/prioritize competing needsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with students and families of diverse backgroundsAbility to de-escalate highly emotional students and adultsA commitment to the belief that all children can succeedAll benefits per Unit A Teachers ContractSalary starts at $50,000 per year / per Unit A ContractResponsibilities: Provide targeted support for High Needs StudentsProvide individual and/or group counseling services.Coordinate psychological and social emotional services for special education students which may include direct weekly serviceExperience in provision of treatment to school-age students and contact with parents/guardians along with understanding of IEP process.Provide early identification, intervention, advocacy and referral of high-risk students and their parentsCoordinate communication and services with outside agencies and programsProvide support to students in acute crisis and assist in coordination of necessary outside servicesEnsure and safe and positive school climateCoordinate special programs and events for students related to character development and leadershipDirect instruction to students using a coordinated K-5 social emotional curriculumServe as a member of Grade Level, RTI and IEP/504 Teams.Assist faculty in understanding the complete range of services available to students to support their academic and social emotional success.Coordinate school-home communication for students with social and emotional concerns.Submit letter of interest/resume to: Dr. Jonathan Bruno, Director of Student Services at jbruno@sbrsd.org Position open until filled.The Southern Berkshire Regional School District Does Not Discriminate on the Basis of Race, Color, Age, Creed, National Origin, Disability, Sex, Gender, Gender Identity, Religion, Limited English Proficiency, Housing Status, Actual or Potential Marital Status or Parental Status, or Sexual Orientation (Chapter 622, Title IX and Sec 504 Regs.)
