Public Safety Officer

The Public Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site position located in Magnolia, AR. The role involves ensuring campus safety by monitoring and maintaining physical security, enforcing laws and university regulations, and responding to emergencies. Responsibilities include patrolling assigned areas, performing safety inspections, providing assistance to students, faculty, and visitors, and addressing safety-related concerns. Collaboration with law enforcement and other security personnel is also required to uphold a safe and secure environment for the campus community.

• Strong understanding of Emergency Services and the ability to respond to and manage emergency situations effectively.
• Experience in Physical Security and Law Enforcement, including knowledge of safety practices, protocols, and regulations.
• Excellent Customer Service skills to assist and interact professionally with a diverse campus community.
• Comprehensive knowledge and commitment to ensuring Public Safety in a higher education setting.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other security personnel and law enforcement agencies.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field is a plus.
• Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Previous experience in a public safety or campus security role is highly desired.
