About the Company
Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. (SALA) is hiring a Managing Attorney to work in its Sierra Vista office. SALA serves nine counties in Arizona and eleven Indian Reservations. The office provides legal services to Cochise, Graham, and Greenlee County residents.
About the Role
The Managing Attorney will be required to supervise a staff attorney and two paralegals. This individual will provide civil legal services in a variety of cases including contested domestic relations, evictions, public benefits, and consumer cases.
Responsibilities

- Provide civil legal services in a variety of cases including contested domestic relations, evictions, public benefits, and consumer cases.
Qualifications
- Applicants must have at least five years of legal experience, including supervisory experience.
- Must be a member of the Arizona Bar or pass the next exam; applicants licensed for 2 years in another jurisdiction may practice by special rule.
- Experience in legal services is helpful.
Required Skills
- Exhibit a high degree of sensitivity to the problems of the low-income community.
- Ability to work with low income and community groups.
- Initiative and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a multi-cultural setting.
- Knowledgeable in the area of general civil practice on behalf of the low-income community
- Up to 5% additional compensation available to individuals fluent in Spanish.
Pay range and compensation package
Salary range $58,656 - $101,915 DOE plus Management Premium of $10,000. SALA provides financial assistance to attorneys responsible for law school loans. SALA has an excellent benefits package including health insurance, pension plan, and generous leave provisions. SALA will pay up to $3000 to support relocation to Arizona.
