Climate and Energy Associate
The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) seeks a full-time Climate and Energy Associate to focus on supporting a regional team working on the energy, economic, environmental, infrastructure, and community impacts of large-scale data center development in Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina. The Climate and Energy Associate will primarily assist with research, information gathering, policy tracking, preparation of public education materials, and other project support related to responsible data center policies and clean energy solutions across the Southeast. The Climate and Energy Associate will also support SACE with continuing to build public understanding and engagement around clean energy solutions to the climate crisis.

The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) is a regional, not-for-profit environmental advocacy organization that promotes responsible and equitable energy choices to ensure clean, safe, and healthy communities throughout the Southeast. As a leading voice for energy policy in our region, SACE is focused on transforming the way we produce and consume energy in the Southeast.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include:
● research and information analysis on data centers, climate, and clean energy issues
● tracking regional news relative to data centers and maintaining relevant databases
● development of written public education and advocacy materials such as website articles, pamphlets, and letters to the editor
● assist with outreach to community members, supporters, and partner organizations by phone, email, and social media
● develop foundational knowledge of data centers and the utility regulatory landscape in the Southeast
● research, monitor, and analyze state and local policy developments related to data center regulations, climate, and energy issues
● additional work to support SACE’s mission to improve energy affordability through the reduction of reliance on fossil fuels across the Southeast

• Location Requirement: Must live in the southeast United States.
• Skill Requirements: Excellent communication, teamwork, research, and writing skills.
• Work Environment: Comfortable working remotely, using computers, and engaging in virtual meetings.

This position will be remote in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, or Florida. The employee will be responsible for providing a work space at home or elsewhere conducive to working, including computer work, video calls, and phone calls.
Salary is contingent on experience.
