Dental Assistant

Southeastern Virginia Health System (SEVHS) is re-establishing enhanced dental services for our community, and we are seeking caring, compassionate Dental Assistants to join our dynamic team in Newport News, Virginia.

In this role, you will work directly with all populations - insured, uninsured and underinsured who may lack dental insurance, making a profound impact on local community health.

Compensation

• Hire Range: $20.80 to $23.39 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications.

Services We Provide

• Initial examinations, digital X-rays, and comprehensive treatment plans
• Cleanings, scaling, fillings, and extractions
• Select root canals and routine oral health services
• Complete and partial dentures, crowns, bridges, and other restorative procedures

Key Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in general dentistry setting
• Clinical Skills: Proficiency in taking impressions for complete and partial dentures, fabricating temporary crowns, and assisting with restorative and prosthodontic procedures.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and digital X-rays, and dental charting. Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus.
• Radiology Certification: Dental radiography certification or other applicable qualifications in accordance with Virginia requirements.
• Languages: Bilingual (Spanish/English) applicants are a major plus
