Job Overview
We are seeking skilled Alarm Technicians to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of alarm systems. This role requires a strong understanding of fire alarm systems and the ability to work in various environments, including commercial, educational and military properties while ensuring compliance with industry standards of safety regulations.
Duties
- Install fire alarm systems according to blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications using hand tools, and power tools.
- Conduct routine inspections of fire alarm components, sensors, and low voltage systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Perform system testing, calibration, and commissioning in accordance with NFPA standards and building code compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure proper integration of fire alarm systems within the overall building design.
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and system documentation for regulatory compliance and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in field service roles related to fire alarm systems or low voltage electrical systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading—both electrical blueprints and construction schematics—and system design principles.
- Ability to interpret NFPA standards, NEC codes, and building code requirements related to fire safety systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment necessary for installation and troubleshooting tasks.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, contractors, and team members while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Experience
- Experience in fire alarm systems or similar electrical work is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to use tools such as voltmeters effectively.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents accurately.
