What are the responsibilities and job description for the CADD Technician III | IT position at Southeastern Surveying and Mapping?
POSITION SUMMARY
As a CAD Technician III | IT, you will be responsible for the production of CAD drawings from sketches, hardline drawings, other electronic formats, and “red line drawings”. You will provide both remote and on-site technical support for fundamental hardware, software, and network-related tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist Licensed Surveyor and Mapper in the application of principles and methods of Land Surveying.
- Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and practices.
- Perform boundary research, calculation, and analysis.
- Perform deed research and deed plotting.
- Prepare legal descriptions, survey drawings, and plats.
- Provide technical office support.
- Perform quality control checks of drawings and deliverables.
- Ensure schedules and production objections are met.
- Ensure the accuracy of reports by data review and resolving discrepancies internally for assigned projects.
- Plan, prioritize, and organize effectively; and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all staff and clients.
- Organize, multi-task, prioritize and re-prioritize daily workload and work with minimum supervision and the ability to meet deadlines, establish deadlines, and prioritize deadlines.
- Collect, organize, disseminate, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Perform basic problem-solving tasks and assist with issues involving various software applications and hardware systems.
- Carry out routine technical assistance and maintenance duties such as, but not limited to:
- Install and update software for new and existing workstations.
- Configuration, servicing, modification, and replacement/updating of most IT-related PC hardware.
- Virtual and in-person user support for hardware and software-related issues.
- Assist with tracking inventory and record keeping.
- Clearly document and update technical specifications and infrastructure requirements for certain projects and user instructions.
- Work under the guidance of senior and administrative IT roles to troubleshoot user issues assigned through the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Ensure that helpdesk tickets are closed or escalated promptly when necessary.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by management.
