What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dialysis Nursing Administrator position at Southeastern Renal Dialysis?
General Description: Dialysis Administrator position assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of care of the E.S.R.D. patients at the dialysis units, and management oversight of facility staff. Position reports to a managing Board of Directors.
1. Assures that SRD’s clinical services operate with standards for financial performance.
a. Leads the annual budgeting process for operational, capital, and HR budgets.
b. Supports financial reporting through timely processing of data which facilitates financial reports.
c. Controls variable cost inputs so as to maintain budgeted cost positions.
d. Supports organizational systems for maintaining cost efficiencies, including purchasing, staffing and clinical practices.
e. Mentors subordinate managers and holds them accountable for budgeting performance and functional data reporting.
f. Contributes to all organizational initiatives to achieve targeted financial performance.
g. Communicates with SRD’s physicians so as to encourage their support of the organizational financial goals and their acceptance of the operational specifics essential for its achievement.
2. Assures that SRD’s clinical services operate within standards for quality measures.
a. Contributes to development of annual and longer-term quality plans.
b. Manages clinical operations so as to assure that clinical quality standards are met. Complying with all applicable regulatory and legal statutes pertaining to the provision of renal dialysis.
c. Mentors subordinate managers and holds them accountable for supporting the organizational quality plan.
d. Communicates with SRD’s physicians so as to assure them understanding of SRD’s quality plan (and its related performance measures) and to encourage their adoption of practice patterns which assure its accomplishment.
e. Supports quality data reporting through the timely and accurate processing of data which support on-going measurement.
3. Leads and supervises staff in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and values.
a. Assures that subordinate managers understand and fulfill their roles regarding staff management.
b. Actively monitors and participates as appropriate in all aspects of staff performance improvement.
c. Leads organizational initiatives regarding education of staff (and patients); assures continual staff competency, and supports an environment of continual professional growth.
d. Oversees recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and orientation processes.
e. Contributes to organizational decisions regarding compensation and benefits.
f. Enforces the policies and procedures published by SRD.
4. Relationship with Physicians.
a. Assumes leadership responsibility for SRD’s interface with staff physicians/providers on all operational issues. Ensuring an effective working relationship with the SRD Medical Directors.
5. Relationship with member-hospitals.
a. Assumes leadership responsibility for SRD’s interface with member hospitals on issues regarding patient care, regulatory compliance, quality reporting, and other issues pertinent to clinical operations.
b. Reporting to, coordinating with, and acting at the direction of the Board of Managing Directors
6. Ancillary staff supervision.
a. Works collaboratively with and supervises Support Services Coord, Billing Coord, Controller, Nurse Managers, Nurse Educator
b. Leads and supervises the activities of social workers and dieticians.
c. Supervises and coordinates roles of Unit Clerks.
d. Assumes leadership for SRD’s referral/patient intake system, assuring its organization, efficiency, and effectiveness.
7. Staff Functions
a. Assumes organizational responsibility for all regulatory compliance.
b. Assumes organizational responsibility and achieves (through delegation) effectiveness in patient and staff educational programs.
c. Serves as SRD’s resource for the clinical aspects of the EMR information system.
8. Leadership
a. Leads the strategic and operational planning process, which ensures the organization’s ability to adapt to changes in the external environment.
b. Performs other duties and projects as requested by SRD’s Board of Managing Directors.

Pay: $83,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
