What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vocational Paraprofessional (3 Openings) position at Southeastern Regional Technical High School?
DESCRIPTION: Southeastern Regional is seeking a vocational paraprofessional with experience in the following industries only:
- Design and Visual Communications/ Graphic Design (Adobe Suite; Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Engineering/CAD
- Diesel Mechanic (or experience with diesel engines, repairs, marine mechanic, etc.)
- Automotive Mechanic (or experience with automotive engines, repairs, marine mechanic, etc.)
- Construction trades (if no specific experience in the previously listed programs)
- Manufacturing trades (if no specific experience in the previously listed programs)
The vocational paraprofessional works with the shop teacher to ensure all students succeed in the program. Paraprofessionals provide additional support, help the shop teacher maintain a safe learning environment, and tailor activities to meet students' individual needs. In addition, they must have a genuine passion for working with a diverse student population to help all students succeed. Vocational paraprofessionals may be asked to cover multiple areas throughout the day.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Professional and reliable
- Proficient in safely operating hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
- Proficient in the Design/Graphics, Engineering, HVAC, Plumbing, construction, or manufacturing trades
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong technology skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and carry out initiatives as assigned by your supervisor(s)
- Ability to be flexible with job assignments and performance responsibilities
- Ability to be at their assigned post from 7 am to 3 pm, daily.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Trade experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Adobe, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Auto/Diesel, CSL certifications, licenses, or experience preferred
- Construction trades or Manufacturing trades experience preferred

COMPENSATION: Paraprofessionals are school-year employees and are paid in 21 equal installments from September to June, or from the initial start date to the end date.
