What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) position at Southeastern Pediatrics and Family Practice?
Administers nursing care under the supervision of a healthcare provider. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. High school diploma and certification as a licensed practical nurse. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a family medical clinic.
Qualifications
- Current LPN licensure with the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of recommended practices for geriatric, adult and pediatric patients
- Maintain knowledge of professional literature and continuing education requirements
- Ability to uphold nursing services philosophy and objectives and contribute to the overall organizational effectiveness
Job Summary : The LPN demonstrates competency to assist with evaluating, planning care, and follow up of patients per provider orders and policy/ procedures and standards of care
- Identify emergent situations and initiates treatment
- Ensure that diagnostic studies are completed as ordered and reviews studies (laboratory values and radiographic results) and reports abnormal results to the provider
- Complete health records per clinic policy
