Boundless is an indoor play space and activity center in NW Rochester, MN, providing social and recreational opportunities that are inclusive of all children and adults with or without disabilities. We have playground equipment, sensory and discovery areas, a full-size basketball court, turf area, quiet space, party rooms, a picnic area, and much more! This space also provides an opportunity for people with disabilities and SEMCIL to educate the public about disability-related topics.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Boundless Assistant Manager supports our Boundless Manager with oversight of daily operations including staff coordination and mentoring, guest service management, and programming. This includes ensuring a positive guest experience, supportive work environment, and inclusive culture.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Establish and maintain professional, positive working relationships with guests, staff, and community partners.
- Oversee and promote customer service expectations and guest satisfaction and engagement.
- Participate in the coordination of staff recruitment, onboarding, staff development initiatives, and retention.
- Provide daily duty assignment and mentorship to Team Members.
- Serve as Manager on Duty as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with building opening and closing procedures.
- Oversee compliance with Boundless rules of conduct, facility use guidelines, and occupancy and safety rules.
- Ensure compliance with guest payment transactions, point-of-sale system operation, safe handling of cash best practice, credit card, and guest information.
- Assist guests with check-in/admission requirements, provide information, and solve problems.
- Oversee environmental and janitorial needs with a focus on cleanliness and safety.
- Participate in and/or oversee programming and activity opportunities, including birthday parties, field trips, and special events at the direction of the Manager.
- Maintain open, positive communication with Boundless management to share ideas, trends, and suggestions for business process improvement.
- Maintain positive working relationships with community partners.
- Ensure the Boundless environment fosters and encourages inclusive and appropriate play for all ages.
- Perform essential functions with a positive and team-focused attitude.
- Communicate and collaborate with Boundless and SEMCIL staff in a professional manner.
- Regular and timely attendance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Demonstrated history of supervision and multi-tasking.
- Experience in customer service and working with children and families is preferred.
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with an ability to address guest and employee complaints and grievances.
- Must be able to work in a noisy and face-paced work environment.
- Dedication to guest satisfaction and the social and physical value of play.
- Excellent listening skills and an empathetic voice and manner.
- Basic math skills and ability to read and write in English required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
